Game Preview - DC Shadow Vs. New York Gridlock, 04/25/26

I am simply not being dramatic here when I say that we have arrived at the most anticipated game of the PUL season: DC Shadow versus New York Gridlock! This is bound to be a highly competitive, powerful, and highlight-worthy contest between two exceptional teams. Both have won a Championship in the last three years, both were at Championship Weekend last season (and matched up in the semi-finals), and both are undefeated thus far in the 2026 season as well. Scoot on up to the edge of your seat if you haven’t already!

Gridlock has plenty of firepower on their side with big pickups of Sadie Jezierski, Edi Lam, and Emma Piorier. All three of these players have been and will continue to be valuable additions as they come with a wealth of talent and experience. Gridlock is also returning several other playmakers, including Yina Cartagena and Jolie Krebs to name just two. They are an athletic and deep team that is ready to deliver quick, give-go motion through a breadth of impressive throws. I think I speak for everyone when I say I am excited to watch Shadow take on this matchup!

Shadow will likely look to counter Gridlock’s savvy throwers with big marks and a containment-style defense. Expect big defenders like Ashleigh Jentilet, Marika Korpinen, and Amanda “Beans” Murphy to accept some of those tough matchups and probably get a D…or two ;) On the offensive end, you know the handler core of Kira Flores, Sami Smalling, and Tyler Smith will hold down the fort with that silky, smooth flow that we’ve come to know and love since last season. What else will the game include? Well that’s for us to find out all together. Saturday night, 7pm, Carlini field. Be there or be []. Go Shadow!
